Radstock Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all pupils, staff, volunteers, visitors and external agencies to share this commitment.
Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. All members of staff, governors, parent volunteers and other adults working or helping in school are DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) checked to ensure they have no criminal convictions that would preclude them working with children. When appointing new staff, at least one member of the appointing panel has had the Safer Recruitment qualification.
If you are concerned about the well-being of a child at our school or are worried that they are being ill-treated, you should report this. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. At Radstock Primary School, staff are encouraged to think what if they are right, rather than what if they are wrong.
