The Lilypad

Radstock Primary School has opened a 21-place SEND unit for primary school-age pupils with Autism and associated and additional needs in September 2025. The unit is called the Lilypad. Within the Lilypad SEND Unit, there are three classes – Ducklings, Herons and Dragonflies. 

Heron Class (opening September 25) will have children in Years 3 and 4.

Dragonfly Class (opening September 26) will have children in Years 5 and 6.

Placements in the unit require an Education and Health Care Plan, with the local authority that your child lives within identifying that a specialist placement is needed beyond a mainstream school is needed. Places for September 2024 and September 2025 have been filled. 

Having a place at Radstock Primary School, either within the nursery or the main school, does not guarantee a place within the unit.
